Villaging Work #26|竹しごと&流しそうめんワークショップBamboo work&Nagashisomen workshop
Bamboo has a long history in Japan, having been used as a versatile plant for various tools since the Jomon period.
Although the plastic market expanded after World War II, bamboo has recently been reevaluated as an eco-friendly material due to its durability and rapid growth.
Why not learn about bamboo both as a plant and as a practical material by harvesting and processing it yourself?
This time, the workshop will take place in a bamboo grove where moso bamboo—commonly used in construction and agricultural or fishing materials—grows.
For those who wish to enjoy nagashi somen (flowing noodles) in the city, you can take home the bamboo you harvest. Harvesting and preparing your own bamboo for nagashi somen creates a truly special experience!
(Discounted tour rates are available for those who choose to stay overnight.)
