FLUCTUATION Taro Muraki
MIDORI.so Gallery is pleased to announce FLUCTUATION, an exhibition by Taro Muraki, on view from November 15 to November 30 at our Bakuroyokoyama location.
For Muraki, the greatest fluctuation lies within the self. The self influences others, and in turn, is influenced by them—an endless and delicate exchange that defines existence.
In FLUCTUATION, Muraki explores these subtle shifts and emotional vibrations through recurring motifs—hands, spheres, stones, and wood grains. Each element becomes a vessel for expressing the invisible tremors that move between people, objects, and time. His works invite viewers to sense the quiet instability that underlies all things, and to find beauty within that uncertainty.
Artist Statement
It is said that everything in this world is constantly wavering. The things we casually see and feel every day are in flux. For me, the greatest fluctuation lies within myself. The self influences others, and others influence the self — it’s an endless cycle. I’ve expressed these wavering emotions through the motifs I’ve long been drawn to — hands, spheres, stones, and wood grains. The most exciting part of exhibiting my work is discovering how others respond to it.
