About MIDORI.so Gallery
MIDORI.so Gallery is an art space within the MIDORI.so co-working environment, operated by MIRAI INSTITUTE. Through exhibitions, AIR programs, and creative initiatives in Nakameguro, Bakurocho, and Ikejiri, the gallery supports emerging to mid-career artists in presenting their work and developing sustainable artistic practices. The gallery acts as a connective hub, encouraging collaboration, accessibility, and long-term engagement with art.
Position Overview
Gallery staff support daily gallery operations and exhibition activities, creating a welcoming environment where artists, visitors, and community members can engage meaningfully with art. The role involves direct communication with domestic and international artists and guests, requiring strong English skills. Staff help maintain the rhythm of exhibition cycles and support the continuity of MIDORI.so’s programs and community.

Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in fine art, design, or related field or experience at a gallery or art organization
- Bilingual Japanese/English proficiency (intermediate–native)
Preferred:
- Interest or experience in art sales
- Design/visual communication interest
- Photoshop / Illustrator skills
- Comfortable with DIY/tool work
Main Responsibilities
- Exhibition prep, installation, deinstallation
- Visitor engagement and artwork explanation
- Sales support and artwork packing/shipping
- Recordkeeping and data management
- Photography, reporting, and SNS support
- Email correspondence, scheduling, and admin tasks
Duties may expand as new art-related projects develop.
Working Conditions
- Part-time (minimum 96 hours/month)
- Shift-based, including weekends/holidays
- Standard hours: 10:00–19:00 (1-hour break)
- Shorter shifts possible depending on schedule
- Evening shifts may occur during openings/events
- Wage: ¥1,600/hour
